Hi, im fairly new to synthedit, ive created a couple of vsts and am steadily learning.

However i want to learn how to create a drum synth, i have opened the 808 drum project that comes with synthedit to have a look around and see how it is made. Heres where i have come to a problem, i cant make the thing make a sound. I have tried linking a keyboard controller to the container then conecting the outputs to a sound out module with no results. I take it there is a different approach when dealing with drum trigger modules rather than midi to cv?

So how can i control this drum synth with a midi keyboard?

I realise this is a basic question, but youve got to start somewhere!

I don't know which MIDI notes trigger which samples, but I suggest you try to hit all keys (like from C3 to C6 etc.) until you find the corresponding ones. Sadly the help file does not describe this, so you could find it out like this.

Thanks for the reply, i have tried this though, but still no results. I noticed you said trigger samples, is that suggesting that the drum synths that came with synthedit need samples to go with it? if thats the case, theres were my problem lies. I thought however (and by looking at the structure) they were all synthed drum hits.

Thanks

yes , its a synthed drum , have you try to put channel to " all"or 1 ?
then notes are 36 to 51 on a external hardware midi keyboards
but works fine too with the SE keyboard module
